i feel like exciting things are happening right now. but at the same time, i don't know how much i feel like talking about it? weird? i don't know why.
i played wii fit for a while this morning. its pretty cool. except that it very closely monitors your weight, how much you have worked out on it, and how often. i guess its kind of a good thing. i could have just gotten a gym pass, and gone whenever i wanted to. but lets face it... i probably would procrastinate about it, because that is what i do best, and no one would say anything and i would just forget that i had spent money on it altogether. but with this... i almost feel like the video game is judging me! haha. that cheerful little voice telling me that if i do it on a daily basis i am more likely to succeed at the goal that i made for myself and have more accurate results with my balance testing and stuff. so weird. i recommend it for everyone who likes to work out at home but doesn't know how, and maybe lacks motivation.
so now what is going on with me, you say? well i am getting more and more time at kiss fm. and better and better spots. apparently i did really well on my first monday afternoon (the drive home, from 4-7) and patrick e-mailed me to tell me that for the remaining two mondays in january, i will be on from 2-7. i think they are short bodied because kelsi is gone. i'm also going to have my picture taken for the wall and the website for tomorrow. i'm gonna bug rob about getting a jock profile thing done for the website too. i'm pretty much as legit as they get! haha.
also... yesterday i had lunch with trystan and his mom. i really like trystan's mom. we get along really well. i hadn't seen her in a while since trystan has a new erin in his life and him and i hang out MUCH less. after lunch she asked me if i wanted to tag along to her hair appointment with erin. so i did. erin was supposed to cut my hair later on that evening, but she ended up just giving me my trim while loralei was toning. i spent A LONG time hanging out in the hair salon, it was fun. i really like erin's boss, peter. he always says erin and i are like his little sisters and he likes to support us with our projects with things. he has done a lot for erin with her career as a hair dresser. he is also a big music fan. him and i were talking about my job at the radio station and how i wish i could play better music and would love to have a show where i got to program what i play. i would have so much more fun playing artists i actually care about and know about. music is my passion. just... good music, not radio music. it somehow came up... and peter wants to look into sponsoring a show for me to do just that. wants to find out how much it would be. he told me he should be switching his radio advertising so he can get me in there to do stuff for them.
today erin texted me and was like, he's serious. he wants to know how much it would be.
so i sent patrick an e-mail about how badly i want to do this and why and why it WOULD work for this station and their demographic. asked about the possibility of being able to do it if there was a sponsor for the show. i haven't heard anything back yet. i have a sneaking suspicion that he won't be into it, and it will get dismissed, and i'll keep playing men without hats 4 times on sundays, and taylor swift as many times as will be allowed. oh well. can't say i haven't tried... numerous times.
i've been watching mad men by myself lately. tyler wasn't into it. its set in 1960, and its about an advertising firm in manhattan. its AWESOME. i'm so into it. the clothes make me wish i could just build a time machine, go back in time, and steal everything they used to wear. even though i have the wrong body type, and it won't fit me anyway. oh well. anyway, i woke up at like 6 this morning talking in my sleep about how i love the show, but sometimes its hard to watch because its so sexist. tyler thought this was HILARIOUS. agh. bugged me about it till he left for work. haha. it is incredibly sexist. and the women just let the men treat them like that. expect it even. most of them are so dumb. but... i suppose it is true to the time period and the occupation.
and now... i have to go make myself pretty for work.

this is exciting news eryn! way to go!
ReplyDeletecongrats! that's exciting stuff. It would be so awesome if you were allowed to choose the music you played. If that ever happened, I've got a TON of bands I'd be sending your way. Good music needs to be more widespread!
ReplyDeletemad men is a great show. and it's very accurate to the times. Andreas is really into it too...or he was, not so much anymore. I acknowledge it's goodness, but it never really held me sway. have you ever seen deadwood? now THAT'S a fantastic show....also hard to watch at first because of the courseness and the language and all that, but it's very heavily researched, and accurate, and every show is like, movie quality. You get really into it.
What's with radio music anyway? I was just saying to Kyle that apparently you don't need to be talented to have a hit song on the radio. There's so many stupid meaningless dumb songs!!!
ReplyDeleteYou should tell Patrick more details about the sponsor. You never know... tell him I would be WAY more interested in that kind of music, too. And Taylor Swift makes me gag. Men Without Hats I can handle - reminds me of church dances that were very fun. Just keep John Mellancamp off the air, I say!
ReplyDeleteAnd I went to the Good Life as Penny's guest today - went to the Zumba class with her. It was okay. But I hate gymns. And actually, I hate exercise classes. I really realized that today. But I ordered a zumba dvd from the library. I much prefer to do it at home... by myself... But as gyms go, I think it is pretty good - it is women only and for January it is free to join and you pay $15 every 2 weeks and it is at your end of town. But there is no point if you don't think you will go. If you like the wii, stick with that.
