i have made two big music discoveries lately. broken bells - who is the lead singer of the shin's along with some other fantastic individuals. and beach house - who is just awesome. i actually burned both albums for dean today after i played him a couple songs when we stopped for lunch.
i have worked the entire day today, basically. i had about 2 hours off in between. i arrived at my mom's house to meet dean at 8:15, although we didn't leave until 9 (go figure). we picked up some window washing supplies and spent a wonderful day in the sunshine washing some windows and enjoying each other's company. i really like washing windows with dean. its an easy way to make some cash when i'm broke, i get to spend some time with dean, and when i help it is almost always beautiful outside (sometimes a little too beautiful...). and i can feel it when i'm done, haha. its actually a pretty good work out for my arms and legs. today i met a woman who told me she was ONLY 95, and made me come in for a moment so she could show me her knitting and tell me about what she was working on. haha... old people are just so lonely sometimes.
i haven't seen tyler since this morning when i was really nice and got up to make him a lunch. i worry about him when i don't pack his lunch. he doesn't worry so much about what he eats or whether or not it is good for him. with influence both from my mom and one specific science teacher in high school, i believe that eating healthy will help you with learning and your brain and whatever. so when i don't make his lunch i feel bad, and i worry about what he will end up eating. its silly, really.
oh, and i saw him again briefly when he dropped me off a coffee for my shift. i am exhausted. luckily i just have to sit here, occasionally press a couple buttons, and read some news. it isn't so bad. i get to work for my parents again on friday! yay! and tomorrow i am getting my arm finished (my typewriter) finally. i paid for it back in october, so no stress for money there.
friday evening i am going to my first roller derby practice!!! pretty excited. i was thinking about going tomorrow night... but then erin told me she wouldn't be there, and my nose still kinda hurts... and i will have a new tattoo. it just doesn't sound like a good idea to me. haha. so i will wait a couple days, till friday, and try it out then. i'm pretty excited to get started. also, suzanne is coming over on thursday night for a tv show night. she has been interested in watching big love, and i have the first 3 seasons downloaded already. so i am going to rewatch them with her, and we'll have some snacks, and hang out! we planned for nachos and guacamole on thursday night. i'm excited about that too. love guac!
amily is in heat for the first time (we need to get her fixed asap!) and is peeing on EVERYTHING. it's so annoying. i have washed all our bedding and been trying to clean up after her right away. i rubbed her nose in it, and gave her a good smack on the nose yesterday... i haven't found anything new since. i have been letting the cats out on the balcony when it's nice out. they are so funny to watch. the just love the sun, and the sniff at everything so excitedly. saetia stands on the ledge of the door, and stretches up to look over the railing at everything. doesn't jump up, just looks. its cute. they're funny.
i got some wonderful praise when i came in to work from the station's general manager. saying that i am stepping up the plate time and again, and that he heard i did a wonderful job as mc at the our kids have talent. i told him the issues i faced and how i felt about it (which wasn't great) but he just told me that he heard i did a great job, and not to worry about it. and i think there may be some opportunities opening up here too. which is great! if i keep going like i am, facing up what gets handed to me, i should be able to pull off some great things. i'm excited about it. i love my job. i love working here. i'm working towards right now, getting a blog to tie in with my show where me and someone else can write about environmental issues, things everyone can do to help out, and possibly some seasonal recipes and other fun stuff. encourage people to eat seasonally and locally to help out our planet and of course, reduce your carbon footprint.
i think i have droned on enough for now... possibly the reason i don't get comments is because i write too often - i direct result of me not working so much...

awesome about the mc-ing. I could see you being really good at that. I'll be checking those bands out, too. lately we've been dl-ing lots of new music, but I can always use more!
ReplyDeleteI had a feeling you weren't as bad as you thought you were for the mc'ing. That's really great--you're lucky you found something you love.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's silly worrying about Tyler's lunch. It's cute. You're a little wife already! A healthy little wife.
